Population: 45-thousand - 6km from Chicxulub

CHICXULUB

Population: 6-thousand

• Outdoor market selling fruits, vegetables and fish

• Local laundry - drop off and pick up in 24 hours.
• Buses and mini buses travel to Progreso continuously between 6 AM and 9:30 PM. Mini buses travel to Uaymitun every 20 minutes and cost $0.40.
• Fresh fish can be purchased directly from the fishermen along the beach from Progreso to Uaymitun. Filleted fish goes for approximately $6.00 (Cdn) per kilo!
• Events are held at the community centre and town square specifically for Canadians, such as folklore dances, concerts, and local craft sales.
